There are various methods to drive motors, and using the L29P chip is a widely adopted solution. The L298P, an excellent hoog vermogen motor driver chip from STMicroelectronics, can directly drive DC motors, two-phase, and four-phase stepper motors with a current of up to 2A. The motor output is protected by eight high-speed Schottky diodes.

We have designed an expansion board based on the L298P circuit, which is stacked and can be directly plugged into the UNO R3 board. This design reduces the technical complexity for users in both motor driving and operation.
