KYO NO OTO/Yurushiiro

During the Heian Period, there was a color that was not allowed to use except for certain social statuses such as royalty. Safflower rood was one of those colors because of its preciousness. ‘YURUSHIIRO’ means ‘allowed color’ for everybody. ‘YURUSHIIRO is a much lighter version of Safflower red. The ink color shade was allowed for person and was often used for daily life during the Heian period (794-1185)
This 40ml ink bottle is manufactured by Kyoto Inks in Japan.
All Kyoto inks are handmade in Japan with traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. **PLEASE NOTE**The manufacturer states there may appear white solids in the ink bottle and this is actually fine pigment particles and no problem to the ink itself. You may need to shake the bottle prior to use.
